Archery Archives

I just want to hang out with my friends and practice archery. Is this legal? Can I hold this at my house?

I’m 16 if that’s important.

Where I live every man here thinks he’s Robin Hood along with several women folks and it’s common to see someone teaching big kids how to use a bow. There is a archery range here and Sunday afternoon it’s standing room only then wait in line. Nowhere that I have ben do seems people give a hoot about archery. Why so?

I have always thought that archery was a part of artillery. However, some people said that it is a part of infantry.

Which one is it?

At the moment I’m not worried about the actual hunt. I’m more interested now in learning to shoot and get really good at it. I received a Fred Bear Element compound bow for Christmas set at 28" 60-70lb draw. The archery shop I got set up at set the bow at like 55lbs to start me out…Is this ok since the bow weight says 60-70? Any other advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I have recently just joined an archery club and I was wondering if it will be more beneficial in the future if i practice with or without the sighting scopes? For now, since I just started I am only shooting about 5M away so I can’t tell which one is better since the target is really close. But if someone is experienced in this field and can provide me an answer I will be very grateful. Thanks guys!
